Personal "Scent Circle"

Everyone has a personal "scent circle":

approximately an arm's length from the body.

No one should be aware of your fragrance unless he or she steps inside your "circle." Fragrance should be one of the most subtle, personal messages you send to those with whom you come in contact.

For a long-lasting effect, fragrance should be layered all over the body, starting with toilet water or eau de parfum, next in strength to perfume, to build the fragrance foundation.

Because fragrance rises, spray or smooth fragrance onto skin from the feet to the shoulders. If fragrance is applied only behind the ears, it will eventually rise and disappear.

The wearer is diet can affect the way a fragrance smells and lasts on the skin.

If the wearer is on a high fat, spicy diet, for example, fragrances will be more intense. A dramatic change in diet can alter skin chemistry, causing fragrances to smell differently.

Skin type will also affect the way a fragrance smells on a person.

Fragrance wearers with oilier skin should remember that fragrances interact with the oils in their skin to create a more intense scent.

Dry skin does not retain fragrance as long as oily skin, requiring the wearer to re-apply the fragrance more often.

A person is sense of smell is very individual. Don't make the mistake of wearing a perfume because it smells great on another person ¡ª it may not smell the same on you.

When choosing a new fragrance, don't smell too many at once. Limit trials to three or four fragrances and take home samples to try in a variety of settings. Skin acidity, diet, and hormones will affect how a fragrance performs on your skin.

If you find fragrance too cloying or suffer from allergic reactions, try spraying your favorite scent onto your hairbrush or hair accessories.

Store your perfume in a cool, unlit place, preferably the fridge. Heat, airspace, and light will deteriorate a perfume.

Try Eau de Parfum rather than Eau de Toilette for night-time use. Eau de Parfum is a deeper, richer formula that lasts longer and promises to make your night out that much more sensual.

More Tips
Making the Scent Last
The length of time your fragrance lasts is affected by your skin type. If you have oily skin, you’re in luck: scent will last longer on you, potentially up to five or six hours, because of your skin’s higher moisture content. SharpMen with dry skin will find that their fragrance won’t have quite as much stamina, so they may want to apply slightly more (emphasis on slightly) before their next activity.
How to Fragrance Do is and Do not is?
There is a lot more to wearing a fragrance than just splashing it on. More important, there are some things that you should NEVER do.
Red Hot Designer Fragrances for Men
Choosing hot designer fragrances for men is slightly easier, although it has to be said that the scents that women like for their men are not the same as those that men like for themselves! So, with a LOT of assistance from UK sales figures and a good, strong deep breath of oxygen, here are my hot five favourites for men this season.
